I have recently watched some videos about ordering coffee and food in restaurants from Spain. In all of them, they say the best thing to say is “me pone” and advise against using me gustaría as this suggests it’s not an order.
Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. That's correct, we tend to use the imperative as in "me pone" in Spain when we are at a café or restaurant. However, that can sound impolite in other countries or other situations, so it's important to keep that in mind, which is why we have included it too. For instance, we won't use the imperative at a friends/acquaintance's house or at a café or restaurant in Latin America. Hope this helps y gracias por la pregunta!
@@coffeebreaklanguages you said “we tend to use the imperative as in “me pone” in Spain. “ I don’t think me pone is the imperative
Mi piace molto! Grazie
Grazie. This is the most straightforward explanation.

Goodness. I have met many people that are older - they are learning other languages. In fact in every way they find that learning other languages is boosting their brain power. I won’t divulge my age but I won’t give up starting new languages.
That's great, we love to know that people are committed to their learning no matter their age!
